Caregiving is one of the most in-demand roles among domestic workers, but many start the job with little or no training, even though it can affect the health and wellbeing of the person they care for. This course exists to gives domestic workers the skills, knowledge, and confidence to give safe, informed care to elderly people and people with disabilities. It is for workers who are new to caregiving, workers moving from housekeeping or childcare into caregiving, and anyone who wants to build their skills and improve their job prospects.

The course uses simple, plain English, and works well on a mobile phone. It uses real-life examples from other domestic workers, practical activities you can try right away, and short checks to help you understand and feel more confident. It covers both the practical side and the emotional side of caregiving. The course is made in partnership with The Salvation Army, who gave resource materials and the how-to videos, learners are then encouraged to join an in person training.
