How do we measure and communicate the real impact of our work?

That’s the question we explored at the 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐆𝐎 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 – 𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: “𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭” hosted by The Hong Kong Jockey Club 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and led by the University of Chicago’s Center for Impact Sciences.

Our team — Nisha Bates (Senior Programmes Manager), Risma Farhanah (Programmes Coordinator), and Sujata Ramakrishna (Board Director & Treasurer) — had the privilege to attend this two-day event on June 19–20 alongside fellow changemakers from Hong Kong’s nonprofit sector.

🌍 Led by Jason Saul and Heather King, PhD, this insightful workshop introduced the exciting and evolving field of 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 — equipping us with tools in benchmarking, standardized reporting, impact verification, and even predictive modeling.

✅ At Uplifters, measuring the impact of our 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐬 is not just important — it’s essential. We want to ensure that every migrant domestic worker we support sees 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥, 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬. This workshop reminded us that data isn’t just about numbers — it’s about telling the story of change.

🙏 Thank you to The Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation and The Hong Kong Jockey Club 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 for hosting this meaningful experience and for investing in the professional growth of the nonprofit sector.

💙 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭— and now, we do it with even clearer insights and stronger tools.
