Motherhood is hard, but it’s even harder being a mother from afar! Jenelyn’s poem beautifully captures this unique journey of motherhood.
“MOTHER FROM AFAR”
When I bid goodbye
My eyes filled with sorrow and tears
Holding a passport for success
And bringing a luggage of hope“I will be back soon” words that I did not fulfill
Until now I’m here in foreign land digging and providing their needs.
Sacrificing to be far from them and
Securing their future aheadSeeing them under some one cares while I’m taking care others is heart breaking
I wish I’m there to fullfil my motherly duties
To witness their growing up journeys
Their downfall and how they rise
To be their defender not misjudged
To be their protector not bullied
To be their friends and hearing them without prejudice
To be their confidant without judgementBeing a mother afar is not an easy job
Wounded, bruised, aching bones, but nothing hurts more than a longing heart
Our sacrifices is incredible and incomparable
Being physically there with them is not a measurement of how good we are as a mother
Distance cant measure the love, care and sacrifices we hadSeeing them beautifully grow
Worth all the tears and sweats I lost!
I am a mother of my proud daughters and that keeps me going!-Jenelyn
