A shining example is our Senior Programmes Manager, Asnah Subian, who joined Uplifters in an entry-level position at the end of 2021 and, in just three years, advanced to a senior leadership role. Her journey exemplifies our dedication to nurturing talent and supporting career progression based on merit, skills, and commitment.
Celebrating Achievements in Leadership and Social Impact
Asnah’s leadership extends beyond her role at Uplifters. She recently completed the Sustainable and Social Innovation Leadership Programme (SSILP), where she delivered an outstanding presentation at the final pitch. Among 27 social projects presented, Asnah was one of the five finalists of the 2024 cohort. Her project focuses on creating a long-distance parenting course for migrant domestic workers, addressing the challenges faced by children left behind due to migration. Research indicates that these children experience higher rates of depression, anxiety, and educational disruptions, making Asnah’s initiative a crucial step toward mitigating these challenges.
Her success not only highlights the impact of her work but also underscores Uplifters’ dedication to empowering staff members from diverse backgrounds to drive meaningful change.
