The government Woman Health Service offers breast cancer screening assessments and mammograms. If you are older than 44, you might be eligible for discounted mammograms ($535 HKD). Mind HK
Mind HK provides mental health information and resources. They created resources for domestic workers on managing mental health and anxiety around Covid-19, available in English, Bahasa Indonesia and Tagalog. They also offer quarantine mental health tips in English, Bahasa Indonesia and Tagalog. They don’t provide one-to-one counselling sessions.

Organisations listed here provide FREE one-to-one counselling sessions. If you have been struggling mentally for a few weeks now (for example feeling very sad, depressed and/or anxious), it’s helpful to have professional counselling (one to one session with a psychologist). HELP for Domestic Workers
HELP for Domestic workers offers free group support and one-on-one counselling. If you need one-to-one counselling sessions either in-person or online, please fill in this form to sign up for their MeHeal Programme.
Hong Kong Red Cross
The Hong Kong Red Cross’s ‘Shall we Talk’ program provides psychological support to people who suffer from emotional distress due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Please fill in this form to make an appointment or send them a Whatsapp message at 5164 5040. Their staff will be in touch to confirm your booking once you submit the form with all necessary information.
Social Welfare Department
The Social Welfare Department of the Hong Kong Government provides hotline services that offer counselling, support and advice and arrange appropriate follow up services for those in need. Please call their SWD Hotline at 2343 2255. Social workers are on duty from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Mondays to Fridays and from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturdays.

RainLily’s SafeChat service provides online support and counselling to those who experienced sexual violence. You can reach them in various ways. ReSources: The Counselling Center
ReSources provides affordable counselling services (HK$60 for the first two sessions). Follow up sessions will be charged based on your household income on a non-profit basis. Call 2523 8979.

The Samaritans Befrienders Hong Kong
The Samaritans Befrienders Hong Kong provides a hotline service run by a group of volunteers who provide emotional aid when you are in need. Call 2389 2222 for Cantonese and 2389 2223 for English. 24 hours for Cantonese, 6:30-10pm weekdays (excluding public holidays) for English.

CEASE Crisis Center
The 24 hour hotline is manned by registered social workers. They provide immediate risk assessment and counselling services to victims of sexual violence, domestic violence or other family crises. You can call them at 18281.
The persons who answer these helplines listen in total confidence, confidentiality, and without judgment, whatever your situation.
If you belong to a religious organization, you can also reach out to them as they often provide counseling services. The large majority of Uplifters students are based in Hong Kong and Singapore. We don’t have yet specific mental health partners to recommend elsewhere in the world.

Healthcare:
If you are experiencing health symptoms talk to your employer and ask them to organise for you to see a GP. Your employer can choose which clinic you attend. Your employer should pay for doctor’s appointments, diagnostic tests, and treatment and medications. For example, if you have a fever and a sore throat, your employer should pay for a GP appointment and any medicine you are prescribed.
Your employer does not need to pay for general checkups, preventative care, or medication not prescribed by a doctor.
You are allowed to make your own appointments for these services.

Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (FAST)
FAST provides social support for domestic workers with counseling and befriending services. Please call their 24-hour Helpline at 1800 339 4357.
If you are feeling depressed or have concerns over aspects of your employment, and welfare, please book a time on their website to seek counseling and advice from their counseling teams. The Sunday sessions run between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE)
AWARE’s Women’s Helpline provides women with assistance about various concerns, offering empathy, support, information and encouragement. They provide affordable, fee-based one-to-one counselling sessions. Please make an appointment via their hotline below.
