I have been a single mom for 11 years now, and I have 2 kids. When I was in the Philippines, I didn’t have a job, and I needed to send my children to school. I experienced a lot of stress and struggles. That’s why I decided to migrate in order to support my kids and provide for their education.

It has been hard. Sometimes, my children often tell me, “Mama, during my birthday, you’re not here” or “During my awarding, you’re not here to go on stage with me.” It hurts so much to hear that from them, but I slowly explain that I am doing this to provide for their needs and secure their future.

I make sure to stay connected with my children. We often chat on Messenger, and sometimes I call them during my free time to check how they are and ask about their studies. However, there are challenges. Sometimes, I am so busy taking care of my employer’s twins that I don’t have time to talk to my own children.

My hope for my children is that they can finish their studies and achieve their ambitions in life. I dream that they won’t experience the hardships I faced when I was their age.

To all the other supermoms, I want to say: Just be brave enough to face all the obstacles that we encounter and never give up, no matter how hard life is!!
